Mick and Keef
Here's my texture work for Mick and Keef for the Cerebus Film. Once again, I only textured these, I didn't model them.

I'm just about finished with my new demo reel. I should have it up sometime tomorrow. Until then, here's the title shot for my reel.

Here's a couple quick and dirty occlusion pass renders of one of the environments I'm working on for my short. I haven't smoothed any of the objects

I finished texturing the Tavern Keeper for the Cerebus film . The original model was created by Younous Elboujnani (aka, Uness Max. I'm not sure which one he prefers.)
The other one is a knight done for Marvimation
The original model was created by Tan Bi
Both of these can be viewed in higher resolution in my Picasa gallery, just click on one of the thumbnails at the top of my Blog.
In other news, I saw Super 8. It's one of the best movies that I've seen in a while. The characters are well developed and feel like real kids I probably would have been hanging out with when I was that age. My only real gripes were with the obnoxious lens flares that JJ Abrams likes to use and the alien's change at the end happens a bit too easily after it's been rampaging through the entire movie.

Updates, updates
This will be a short one. I just wanted to let you know that I swapped out the crummy Youtube player to the right for a better quality Vimeo embed. The reel is in HD and can be viewed in HD on the Vimeo site.
Also, if anyone is confused, the thumbnail images at the top of this page link to my gallery. feel free to click through!
Peace out!

Character redesign
So, I did a bit of a redesign of my character for my short. The original character wasn't real practical for rendering unless I have a render farm, which I don't. And, to access a render farm, it would cost more money than I can really justify right now.
This version works much better since it's not rendering hair and a mess of different skin shaders. I also managed to build myself a new workstation which is significantly better for this work than my iMac is. A mac and a PC sitting next to each other on the same desk? Blasphemy!

I live again!
Fear not, for I'm still around. There have been a number of factors as to why this blog has sat idle for so long. First and foremost being that I completely forgot that I had this. Otherwise I have been busy working on a few projects.
In other news, I realized that my demo reel is drastically out of date. I know I can do a lot better than the stuff that's on my reel now, and coupled with the fact that most of what I worked on is still held under NDA's, I decided to start over almost from scratch. My new reel should be posted tomorrow!
